Wanna Know What It’s Like to Struggle with Communication Like Someone with ASD?

If you work with students on the autism spectrum, you are acutely aware that communication skills are a huge challenge.  Our students struggle with both understanding what is said to them and with expressing themselves to others.  Too often students use their behavior to communicatebecause that is probably one method that has worked in the past with someone, somewhere.

If you’ve ever wondered what it must be like not to be able to communicate with someone about what you want, take a look at today’s video and see how I demonstrate this for staff.  It seems to resonate with staff every time I do this.  I get that “aha!” moment every time, so hopefully you will get that too!

See for yourself how I simulate the communication struggle!

Jerry has been bugging me to bring back some “re-runs” of our earlier videos for those of you who are new to the site.  Since we have over 250 videos, my guess is that you haven’t seen all of our information from nearly 6 years ago, yet the information contains things that I still use in everyday situations!

In the spirit of taking some time off in July and bringing new subscribers information you may have missed, you will get to see some of my favorites!

We will begin with a new year, new resources and new information starting the first Tuesday in August!  You also won’t have to look at my scooter anymore!

You take care and I’ll see you next time!

Carla
