Spelling, spelling, spelling! The thing that rarely gets taught and the thing that many students struggle with for a lifetime! Today’s communication that is done via texts and emails is done informally with abbreviations, slang and even a lack of punctuation and capitalization. Spelling has taken a backseat, yet it is still an important skill that often communicates a certain level of education or lack thereof when communication is riddled with spelling errors.
When I work in my home with the students that I tutor, the parents are in the next room. As I’ve been teaching spelling rules, I’ve had some fun reactions from parents. One mom asked, “Can I have a list of the spelling rules, we don’t know them!”
Take a look at the Spelling resources I have for you!
For my subscribers, I have put together a list of 14 Spelling Rules that I have taught this year. If you would like a copy, let me know and I’ll send one your way.
Just know these are not all the spelling rules that we have in English, but it’s a nice start!
You take care and I’ll see you back here on June 8th!
