A Strategy to Help Students Say Goodbye to Their Mistakes!

A Strategy to Help Students Say Goodbye to Their Mistakes!

I hate making a mistake.  I don’t like being wrong, but I can tell you that it’s the mistakes we make that help us to do it right the next time, be a better person the next time, figure something out quicker the next time.  So mistakes are GOOD!

We all hate getting something wrong, but our students hate it the most I think.  They unfortunately get the message early that making a mistake is bad.  They get teased, shamed, embarrassed, and humiliated, all because they made a mistake.  I’ve known students who would rather be the bad kid than the “stupid” kid who doesn’t know the answer.

So much negative experiences with being wrong and now you’re going to come along and tell them that making a mistake can be fixed and that it can be a very good thing.  In some cases, the best thing that’s ever happened to them!  That might be a hard sell, but maybe you can use this strategy to help them along.

Take a look!

I hope your year is off to a great start!  Let me know how this strategy works for you!

You take care and I’ll see you next time!
