Teaching Students Synthesis in Reading Using A Surprising Tool!

Teaching Students Synthesis in Reading Using A Surprising Tool!

How can we make reading comprehension more understandable? One way is to start with something concrete and move to the abstract! I learned so many ideas from Tanny McGregor’s book, Comprehension Connections!

Her ideas are outstanding for our students who need to see, touch, and hear information before they understand. As you watch today’s video, think about that student with autism, SLD, Down Syndrome, ADD, ADHD or that slow learner who just needs a boost to get there!

Take a look!

Just wanting to give you a heads up that we’re taking a Thanksgiving break next week while everyone celebrates time with family. We’ll be back the week after with another new video!

Give the ideas for teaching synthesis a try and let me know how it goes!

Just remember that all children with disabilities can learn and it’s up to us to make sure that it happens!

You take care and I’ll see you next time!
