It’s November already!  Seriously, didn’t school just start?

Now is the time of year that you have a pretty good idea about who your students are and what they need from you if you are a teacher.

If you are a parent, the craziness of getting back in school and getting a couple of holidays out of the way is over so maybe you have a moment to regroup.

Now is the PERFECT time to either remind you of the wonderfully simple strategy of “chaining” or introduce you to it!

If you need to teach a sequence of steps at home or in the community:  brushing teeth, washing hands, setting the table, getting something out of a vending machine, paying for something etc. you need to take a look at this week’s video.

Likewise, if you need to teach a sequence of steps at school:  using the bathroom, putting an art project together, doing long division, etc., you too need to take a look at the video!
Just as you’ve had time to get to know your students’ needs, you may also find that you’d like to do a project or need some materials that you and/or your school can’t afford.

Have you heard of Donors Choose?  Check out this amazing website!  You, as a teacher, give the information to the folks at DonorsChoose.org and then people all over the world who are interested in supporting teachers can read about your project wish list and with a click, you get your materials/project funded by a donor!

Hey it’s worth a moment of your time right?  Even celebrities get into this.  Zac Efron and Oprah love this site and are regular donors!

Actor Stephen Colbert loves this so much he’s on the board.  Take a moment to check out the video on this site.  You’ll be hooked as a donor or you’ll be thrilled as a teacher who needs help!

So teach those sequence skills and get your project funded!

You may have lots to be thankful for even before Thanksgiving!!!
