Have You Ever Seen A Pop-Up Reinforcer For Children With Special Needs?

Let’s face it! We all need reinforcers from time to time to keep us going, right??? We all like things from a break and a cup of coffee to a vacation in a tropical paradise. Well, we’re adults with life experiences, an education and fully formed brains. If we need a reinforcer, our children with special needs REALLY need them.   Especially if we want them to learn something new and if that something new has little or no interest to them!!!

You’ve heard me say this more than once, “No new learning occurs without reinforcement”. Even though this is not my quote, I believe it 110% and I preach it to my teachers all the time. In today’s video, I’m sharing with you a clever idea that one of my teachers, Linda Knoll, discovered on Pintrest. I’m calling it the “Pop-up Reinforcer”.

It is just so simple and practical I just had to share with you!!! Take a look!!!

Just an FYI, the Home to School and School to Home communication tool is posted under my Resources tab for your convenience to download and use.

I hope you are all ready for a great start to the 2015 new year! As many of you know, I’m hoping for an early 2015 release of my social skills game/book, Say What? being published by Autism Asperger Publishing Company (AAPC), so I’ll keep you posted.

I’m working on two other materials that I am hoping to release this summer and fall so stay tuned!!!

Keep doing the great work you are doing and don’t give up. There are just too many resources out there to help you overcome just about anything you are facing with your children/students. If you have any specific issues you’d like me to address in my weekly blog/videos, please let me know. I’m here to help.

I believe in you and the power you have to transform children’s lives. If you have the right tools, the right materials, the right information, you can make a difference in a child’s life. Isn’t that what we all want….to make a difference?

Happy New Year and let’s get to work!

Take care and I’ll see you next time!

Carla
