Did you know it’s actually more work and more stress to avoid a parent or to be reactive to a problem with a student than it is to actually take care of it!!!
In today’s video, I’ve got three tips for you to stay squarely in the positive seat when it comes to keeping parents happy. This is ESPECIALLY needed for parents who tend to be particularly concerned with what is going on in your classroom!
Take a look at the video and see if you are taking care of all three suggestions!!
I feel that having a family member on the autism spectrum has given me a taste of what parents have to go through with educators.
It’s a long hard journey.
Parents shouldn’t have to “fight” with educational staff about good programming and best practices. Having a child with special needs is hard enough without opposition from professional educators who should be on the same team.
I am fortunate to work with dozens of highly trained, bright, caring educators. Unfortunately I also know what it’s like to try to work with a staff once involved with my nephew who didn’t have the training they needed. They simply didn’t know, what they didn’t know and that made the situation nearly impossible to fix.
One of the main purposes of Behavior Communicates is to get information out to both professional staff and families so that there are less and less instances where educators don’t know what they don’t know!
Thanks for watching! Thanks for sharing!
Take care and I’ll see you next time!!!
