I think you know by now that I’m all about finding and using simple tools to get the job done faster and more efficiently! I’ve got a tool for you to teach elapsed time, one of the useful and necessary life skills for our students with special needs!
Take a look at the video to see how simple and easy this is. I’ve also provided one for you!!!
Once you’ve taught your child to use this tool, then you can compare the chart with an actual clock to see if they can then use a analogue clock to figure out lapsed time. If they can’t, they will always be able to use this handy little tool!
A thank you to my friend and colleague, Beth Tulbert for sharing this tool with me!!
For my subscribers:
For those of you who have been waiting for the core vocabulary boards to appear on the Hamilton Boone Madison Special Services website….they’re up!! Just go to HBM Support tab and click. You will then see Autism Resources as an option. Click on that and you will then see Visual Supports. One more click and under visual supports you will see Core Vocabulary Boards and Mats. Once you open the folder with all of the boards you can also access the “fringe vocabulary” flip pages too. These visuals are ALREAY DONE FOR YOU!!!! Download away and make use of these powerful, low- tech communication tools!!!
Also a holiday reminder….Don’t forget to share the Santa site where you can make custom videos for your little ones( I posted a video on this last year!). Go to www.portablenorthpole.com The classic video is FREE but you can purchase an upgrade version for $3.99. Also, if you have a child/student who has a birthday around the holidays, you can arrange for Santa to personally call your little one to wish him/her a happy birthday!!! Cool stuff!
Enjoy the tools! Hope you found many things to be thankful for…I know I did!!
Take care and I’ll see you next time!
