Do you get as frustrated as I do at times when you are looking for an app for older students and can’t find much? I love the variety of apps I can get for our younger students. There must me hundreds of apps for learning the ABCs, counting, matching, stories for young children etc, etc, etc, but when I’m looking for something for our older students it’s been difficult to find a nice variety of apps that don’t insult our older students by being too “babyish”.
I recently discovered some apps that are actually appropriate for the older student who is in need of social skills training. These apps serve as a GREAT supplement to the social skills I’m teaching to an eighteen- year- old student who is on the autism spectrum. He LOVES the short live action clips in this app and has done a terrific job increasing his understanding of idioms and reading body language.
Take a look!
Just an FYI, the app, Inference Ace that I demonstrated a few weeks ago, just won the prestigious Mom’s Choice Award!!! If you missed that video, go back and check it out!
I will continue to search for appropriate apps for older students, but if you have some that you have discovered, please share!!! I’d love to hear from you and share with others here on the site!
Thanks for watching!
Take care and I’ll see you next time!
